Roxas Holdings, Inc. (RHI; PSEi: ROX) is a sugar and ethanol producer, and a first mover in the area of agribusiness in the Philippines.
With a century of leadership in the sugar business, RHI manages Central Azucarera Don Pedro, Inc. (CADPI) in Nasugbu, Batangas; San Carlos Bioenergy, Inc. (SCBI) in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental; and RHI Agri-business Development Corporation in Nasugbu, Batangas.
At the forefront of the Philippine sugar and ethanol industries as well as agribusiness, it is a trusted brand recognized for its contributions and legacy in the sugar, ethanol and agribusiness industries.
Over the years, RHI has developed relationships with high quality, tier-one customers. Through its excellent level of service and reliability, and quality products, RHI has established a long-term relationship with its customers, which include multinational food and beverage companies and pharmaceutical firms.
RHI's Milestones
1927 Established as a sugar milling company in Nasugbu, Batangas, and was then known as
Central Azucarera Don Pedro.
1994 The Group embarked on an expansion and modernization program which enabled RHI to
become an integrated sugar manufacturing company with a refinery.
1995 It acquired majority ownership of Central Azucarera de la Carlota, Inc. (CACI).
2002 The company commenced a corporate reorganization program to transform itself into
a holding and investment corporation, resulting in the integration of its sugar businesses
under a single subsidiary known as CADP Group Corporation (CADPGC).
2008 The Roxas Group underwent a corporate reorganization that separated its sugar and real
estate businesses into two firms listed with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
2011 Roxol Bioenergy Corporation, the bioethanol unit of RHI, ran fully on a commercial basis.
2013 First Pacific Company Limited of Hong Kong, through its affiliate First Pacific Natural
Resources Holdings BV, acquired 34% stake in RHI.
2015 First Pacific Company Limited raised its stake in RHI to 50.9% with its affiliates First Pacific
Natural Resources Holdings BV owning 26.86% of the Group and First Agri Holdings Corp.
controlling 24.04%.
RHI took over majority of San Carlos Bioenergy, Inc. in May 2015.
RHI Agri-business Development Corporation (ADC) was incorporated on February 24, 2015.
2016 RHI raised PhP1.117 billion from a stock rights offering amid strong demand from investors.
With the Stock Rights Offering, the stake of First Pacific Agri Holdings Corp. in RHI grew to
30.22%.
2020 On September 30, RHI closed its asset sale transaction with Universal Robina Corporation
(URC). The transaction involved the sale of RHI's sugar mill and ethanol plant in La Carlota City,
Negros Occidental and its investment properties, consisting of shares in Najalin Agri-Ventures,
Inc. (NAVI), to URC.
